Dar es Salaam. Air-travel customers will now be able to purchase their tickets via mobile transfer service after Precision Air signed an agreement with Vodacom Tanzania.Vodacom Tanzania has the largest network of mobile money transfer service dubbed M-pesa.The partnership agreement would enable customers to save time as they make the payment via M-pesa and receive an e-ticket for their journey.
“Previously customers could either pay online using credit cards or physically visit Precision Air offices or agents, but with M-pesa things would be much easier,” said Precision Air Commercial director Patrick Ndekana when making the announcement in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
He said, however, that a customer would be supposed to book for a ticket through the airline’s call centre to obtain a booking reference number needed to effect the transfer.
