Best Buy Harnesses Mobile Marketing

Best Buy is leveraging the mobile channel, including dedicated mobile applications, mobile websites, as well as targeted SMS mobile marketing campaigns, to reach consumers, provide product information, and deliver interactive mobile based shopping experiences.

Consumer electronics retailer Best Buy Co., Inc. is aggressively expanding its mobile marketing efforts.

Best Buy is employing a mobile website, SMS texting, banner ads, and mobile applications to reach out to mobile consumers, according to Mobile Commerce Daily.

During the 2009 holiday shopping season, Best Buy launched an iPhone app and formally introduced its mobile site, including a gift guide.

Best Buy Pushes Targeted Mobile Marketing

While Best Buy says it primarily views mobile technology as a means of bringing the online and store environments closer together for a stronger customer experience, the retailer has performed targeted mobile marketing programs aimed at specific customer segments. Best Buy may also investigate one-to-one mobile marketing in the future.
