Government Savings Bank Plans to Launch Mobile Banking Service in Thailand

Thailand-based Government Savings Bank is planning to launch a new mobile banking service to cut costs and improve bank services for its customers in remote areas where setting up new branches in not commercially viable, according to reports.

The new service is expected to allow customers to pay their water, electricity and credit card bills through mobile phones. It is also expected to provide better security over internet banking as SIM cards safeguard customer information against hackers.
