Shackleton Ventures sells mobile payments firm, Macalla, to Roamware Inc. Shackleton bought the business less than a year ago.
Shackleton Ventures Wednesday said it has sold Macalla, a mobile
payments software business, to Roamware Inc. within a year of buying
the company from 3i Group PLC (III.LN).
Financial details of the transaction weren't disclosed.
Shackleton is a secondary market specialist and buys whole
portfolios of assets or individual companies from venture capital
investors wanting to sell. One of the advantages of buying in the
secondary market is that the investor gets a more mature company which
it can sell on fairly swiftly, maximizing returns.
